Vincentian Child Development Center
Welcome to VCDC! Our goal is to help children explore and experience the world around them as they participate in age-appropriate educational activities. We minister to the intellectual, social, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of children in our care, preparing them for successful participation in later educational experiences and encouraging them to be responsible and respectful persons. Daily activities are varied and may include free play, circle time, group work sessions, music, arts & crafts, science, and outdoor activities. Each classroom develops a weekly lesson plan that follows the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards.
Vincentian Child Development Center is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Office of Child Development and is a Keystone Stars STAR 4 facility — a voluntary quality initiative that requires child care centers to meet specific standards that are over and above the state’s licensing requirements.
Vincentian Child Development Center Programs & Tuition
Our infant program is comprised of two classrooms. Children are assigned to the appropriate classroom based on age and development. Each classroom provides age-appropriate activities and individualized warm and loving care.
The ratio of staff to infants is 1:3 or 1:4
Toddlers are organized into three classrooms, based on age and development. As they advance through the toddler classrooms, children are provided progressive hands-on structured activities and opportunities to develop independence and social skills in a safe, nurturing environment.
The ratio of staff to toddlers is 1:5 or 1:6
The preschool program is a large, multi-aged classroom with children ages 3-5 years. This large classroom is divided into activity and learning areas so children can be assigned to groups where teachers provide appropriate learning or play activities. Lessons relating to math, language arts, science, and social studies are provided daily. Music, art, large muscle activities and free play opportunities are provided in addition to academics. All activities in the preschool program support the development of necessary social skills.
